About Thane Ritchie
Thane Ritchie is a strong advocate in many areas that are important to improving the quality of life on this planet for everyone, acting both locally and globally.
Mr. Ritchie is a strong believer that there is a crisis in this country involving health and medicine and that we need to get back as a nation to healthier lifestyles. The base for a healthier lifestyle starts with natural, organic whole foods being available and plentiful. He continues to promote ways to make a healthy diet more accessible to everyone.
Alternative energy is another area of interest and advocacy on Mr. Ritchie’s part. Obviously our carbon based energy usage must be replaced with greener, more sustainable energy sources and he is working to help make that happen.

Mr. Ritchie believes Albert Einstein was correct when he said “The world is a dangerous place to live; not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don’t do anything about it.” Mr. Ritchie believes that we should not only identify areas in life that can be improved but we should each take action to improve them as well.
Thane is also very grateful for the blessings that he has received and believes that we should all make part of our mission in this world to take care of those less fortunate and to give back from whatever bounty we have been given.
A.R. Thane Ritchie is the founder of Ritchie Capital Management. Mr. Ritchie also founded Ritchie Capital Markets, which engaged chiefly in the proprietary trading of United States government bonds and options. In 1993 and 1994, Mr. Ritchie traded with DRW Trading Group. From 1988 to 1993, Mr. Ritchie traded futures and options for Chicago Research and Trading Group, Ltd. Mr. Ritchie attended Duke University and Wheaton College.
Healthy Foods
Thane Ritchie Healthy Foods was created to promote the sustainable production and use of healthy foods in our society. This website seeks to document the loss and degradation of healthy food sources in our world and to promote those who are trying to bring back the usage and supply of healthy foods in our societies and our schools. As well as bringing news and information Thane Ritchie Healthy Foods wants to promote and reward those people and organizations who are working to build healthy sustainable food resources in their communities. We are currently working on ways to reward and promote individuals and organizations that come up with innovative and productive plans for the propagation of sustainable healthy foods in our schools and local communities. Our areas of focus will be: local Farm to School supply and distribution, Sustainable Urban Farming, Sustainable Organic Methods and Usage, and School Gardens. Stay tuned as we work to roll out this exciting program.

First Amendment
Thane Ritchie First Amendment was created to advocate for free speech, a free and active press, a fair court system, and the upholding of all the freedoms guaranteed to us, as Americans, by our constitution. Today many of our freedoms are under assault by our own system of law and government. Paranoia has led to the curtailing of our freedoms in the name of protection for the people. The TSA gropes us, the DHS watches us, the courts incarcerate and silence us. Our freedoms are giving away to an ever growing octopus of commercial and government control. As our Government strives to insulate itself, and to become more secret, it is at the same time constantly eroding the privacy rights of its citizens. On this blog we will present stories that detail the erosion of our freedoms and highlight those people and organizations that are fighting to keep our freedoms strong.

Victims’ Rights
Thane Ritchie believes that one of the things that has made this country so great is our judicial system and the constitutional protections it affords to our fellow citizens. A right to a fair trial, a jury of your peers, and innocence until proven guilty are foundations that have kept our society free. Most hard working law enforcement officers, judges and prosecutors do their jobs admirably, these people have the respect of, and are not the concern of, Thane Ritchie Victims Rights. On this site we want to shine a light on the increasing number of cases where prosecutorial misconduct, judicial misconduct, and various other perversions of the law have sent people to prison, the poor house, and even the grave. Here we will advocate for victims. victims of crimes, victims of the system, and those who are victims first of crimes then victims of the system. We will highlight and hold accountable those who would pervert the law out of ambition, greed or any other reason. We also will highlight and hold accountable the system itself with it’s misuse of plea bargaining and asset confiscation, as a tools that seek not justice but instead seek conviction, incarceration, and profit as the goals. While we advocate the incarceration of truly dangerous people, in this blog we will also try to put some sanity back in the complex discussion of the jailing of non violent people, who once in prison often become institutionalized. We jail more non violent offenders on a percentage basis than any country on earth. More than China, Iran, or Russia. Too many people are being abused by the system (even one person is too many) and the system today seems to often reward the abusers and punish the whistleblowers. We think these abuses must be stopped, to save our freedoms, to save our fellow citizens, and to save our system.

Sustainable Energy and Ecology
Thane Ritchie Sustainable Energy and Ecology was created to help highlight stories, promote ideas, and present solutions to the problems our world faces in the areas of energy and ecology as we move into the future. As we go forward we must find more stable, sustainable, and environmentally friendly ways to produce energy. We must also turn away from the current corporate led paths of planned obsolescence and the mantra of consumption; “buy it, then throw it away”. If we don’t get a handle on ways to produce plentiful green energy and work on ways to sustain our earth, instead of destroying it, our destiny is uncertain.
